Baiturahman Grand Masque

Banda Aceh is Provincial Capital of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. Banda Aceh have some beautiful place for location of tourit visiting, like a great mosgque and very famous in Indonesia and especially in aceh, is called Baiturrahman Grand Masque. Masjid Raya Baiturrahman located in the center of the city of Banda Aceh, Baiturahman Masque is also location of tourist visiting. All Acehnese ever to visit on Baiturrahman Grand Masque.

This magnificent mosque was designed by an Italian architect and built by the Dutch colonial administration as a token of reconciliation following their destruction of an older mosque during the Aceh wars. Construction of the mosque commenced in 1879 and was completed in 1881. The mosque survived the massive 2004 tsunami which destroyed much of the rest of the city of Banda Aceh.

The design of the mosque combines colonial and Turkey influences. The mosque combines few traditionally Acehnese features though it has come to represent the city of Banda Aceh and the cultural uniqueness of the Acehnese. The facilities of this mosque is a library in behind of this building, a place for taking wudhu in the right of this mosque. If we want to enter the park of this mosque should use an Islamic wear, so no part of our forbidden body (aurat) could see by other. One of interesting me in this masque, there is a ditch below the stair that flow water around the masque.
